Everyone goes into this movie expecting gore-city. What was really on my mind was "how can you possible fill an entire movie about saving a private?". Well, the movie did deliver some, shall we say, disturbing scenes. In fact, it is these images which overwhelm my memories of the movie.
I guess, though, that the movie did its job. I felt like I was part of the war. I felt, after seeing that movie, that the war is no longer like a fictional story, but one that I captured with my own eyes.
In terms of pure entertainment, there wasn't much there. I suppose its the kind of movie that makes you 'grow.'
