Destination ... Barcelona

The first impression of Barcelona was the great weather. Although it did rain a bit on our last day, it was sunny and around 25°C the rest of the time. Given that we rarely take trips to "warm places", it was a pleasure to finally experience some heat. The shorts finally got some wear.

We organized the trip after getting discount flights from EasyJet to Barcelona for £49 return each, including taxes. We took an extended weekend off work and left Thursday to return the following Monday. All-in-all about four days worth in Barcelona. The flight was OK, the return trip was delayed about an hour, but who can compain, the price was right.

The food was OK, but we wouldn't go as far as calling it spectacular. At first good food is a bit difficult to find because there are far fewer restaurants here than most other large European cities. Many people eat in bars or cafés. We did go out for one nice dinner and it was great. We also ate a lot of tapas, its good and convenient. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out in cafés drinking coffee (actually letting our feet relax).
